Hemnovia is now looking for dedicated contact supporters for our open care activities in Hagfors and surrounding areas!

Being a contact supporter

Some children lack a close relationship with their parent(s), which means that extra support may be needed to create a safe and positive experience for the child. As a contact supporter, your primary task is to provide this support when the child is to meet with a parent they do not live with.

The role of a contact supporter includes planning and coordinating the intended meetings with your immediate supervisor, parents, the adults the child lives with, and our clients. During the meetings, you are responsible for ensuring that the planning for the current meeting is followed, observing, and assisting if the situation requires it. The meetings take place in Hagfors and surrounding areas in public places, in a venue, or in the home where the child lives.

After the meeting, you are responsible for compiling a written and oral report to your immediate supervisor and clients. You also participate in planning meetings/discussions with your immediate supervisor and clients.

To be a contact supporter, you need to be secure, flexible, attentive, and structured. You do not need any specific education, but personal suitability is crucial for the role.

Scope

The meeting times are regular and can occur on both weekdays and weekends. Meetings often take place with a week, two weeks, or a month in between. The meetings usually last between two and four hours each time.

The work involves flexibility and variation where you, in dialogue with your immediate supervisor, are involved in planning regarding the hours you work.

Meritorious:

• Experience with children and youth
• Experience in contact support
• Experience in social work, foster care, or similar
• Education (ongoing or completed) in social work

To work as a contact supporter within Hemnovia's open care activities, you need to submit a criminal record extract from the Police's suspicion and criminal record register.
